  • Biography: Prof. Bashir Suleiman received his doctoral degree in Physics of Materials from Gothenburg university, Sweden in 1994, and in 1998 a higher “Docent” Diploma in Material Physics from School of Physics and Engineering Physics at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden. He has published more than 50 articles and one book chapter in more than 20 different international journals and 14 international conferences. He is either solo or first author in 90% of these publications. Moreover, his papers have been cited by many researchers from various prestigious universities all over the world. For example, you can look at the citation list (excluding the self citations) from Scopus associated with Elsevier B. V., data base on The number of citations of 25 of his articles that published in Scopus exceeds 270 citations and over 6300 downloads for his book chapter that has been published on line at In addition, he has won many awards during his research work at UOS such as wining the research excellent performance incentive award during the academic years 2010-2011 and Bank of Sharjah award for the best article to serve the community during the academic year 2007-2008. He is a reviewer and a member of editorial boards to several national and international journals & conferences. Among these are journals published by Elsevier, Springer, and(IOP) Institute of Physics Publishing’s. He has been the principle investigator (PI) of several research projects that won grants either in Sweden or in Sharjah. He was an active member of two former research groups at UOS, namely: The Acoustics Research group and the Radiation Science Group that won, the best research group award during the 5th annual scientific research form at UOS.
