Biography: Walid A. M. Elgaher studied Pharmacy at Assiut University, Egypt. He was appointed as a teaching assistant at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Assiut University, where he got his Master’s degree in 2010. He was awarded a scholarship from the German academic exchange service (DAAD) for doctorate study in Germany. In 2016, he got his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry under the supervision of Prof. Rolf W. Hartmann, Saarland University. In 2017, he was appointed as a lecturer of Pharmaceutical Chemistry atAssiut University. Thenhe returned to Germany to join the group of Prof. Anna K. H. Hirsch as a postdoctoralfellow at Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland. His workfocuses on the application of various drug design approaches and the use of biophysical and computationaltechniquesfor drug discovery and optimization, especially in the field of antimicrobial research.
