Arslan Orhan is a professor and director of Advanced Neuroanatomy and Anatomy Programs in the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. I also serve as preclerkship integration director. I hold doctoral degrees in anatomy and neuroscience, as well as in veterinary medicine and surgery. I have a successful track record as a medical educator and scientist. I have designed and implemented significant innovative curricular modules in clinical neuroscience and anatomy. These curricular innovation included a system-based anatomy and neuroanatomy courses, procedure-based, ultrasound-based and landmark based anatomy that have been successfully introduced into the medical curriculum. I have also designed a multidisciplinary board review module that integrate neuroanatomy, anatomy, histology and embryology. I have been actively involved in the implementation of problem-based and the clinical presentation-based curricula. I served as curricular consultant in anatomy and neuroscience at several national and international medical schools. I have an extensive experience in preparing medical students for the USMLE as I conducted series of reviews at national and state levels. My teaching career has been distinguished with several awards, including Basic Science Professor of the Year, Dean’s Performance Award, Most Outstanding Instructor, Golden Apple and Interprofessionalism awards, among many others, at both Rosalind Franklin University School of Medicine (RFU) and the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. In recognition, an Endowed Scholarship and an Excellence in Anatomy award have been established in my name at both institutions. I am a graduate of the Leadership Institute at the University of South Florida. I serve as the section editor of the Neuroanatomy Journal and a member of the editorial board of Global Science & Technology Forum (GSTF)-Journal on Pathology & Laboratory (JPL), SM Journal of Clinical pathology, Journal of Clinical Pathology and Microbes, Current Research: Integrative Medicine (CRIM, JSM Bone Marrow Research, and Horizon Research, Publishing. I am an author of ‘Neuroanatomical Basis of Clinical Neurology’ textbook that received Outstanding Academic Title Award by the Choice Magazine, Current Reviews for Academic Libraries, for excellence in scholarship and presentation, and for the significant contribution to the field.
