Jose Manuel López Garcí is working as Assistant Professor Department of Morphology and Cell Bioloy, University of Oviedo. He hsa completed his Ph.D. in Cell Biology from University of Oviedo. His research interest are the growth plate cartilage of the long bones, which is the structure responsible for bone lengthening through postnatal life. It is a essential process, driven by the increase in volume of the chondrocytes, being the cellular mechanisms relatively unknown. He is interested in the mechanisms by which chondrocytes increase their size and the alterations associated with some pathologies that induce growth failure.
