Biography: I received my undergraduate degree and my Masters in Public Health (MPH) from Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Following my undergraduate study, for three years I worked as Chronic Disease Case Manager in rural, eastern North Carolina. While pursuing my graduate degree, I worked as a graduate research assistant in the Department of Public Health and conducted surveys, coded and analyzed data on over 100 Supplemental Nutrition Assistant Program recipients. Soon after, I began working at the Center for Health Disparities Research and gained research experience on health disparities plaguing African American breast cancer survivors. Simultaneously, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant and taught Personal Health to all incoming students.
