Biography: Ying Yang is a Associate Proffesor, College of Chemical Engineering, China University of Petroleum, China.
Ying Yang was born in 1981 in Sichuan (China). During her PhD for heterogeneous catalysis and catalytic materials, she worked on the organometallic catalysts for olefin epoxidations. In 2011-2012, she joined the Argonne National Lab as a Visiting Scholar. In 2013, she moved to China University of Petroleum-Beijing and elevated to be Associate Professor in 2014. She is now working on design and application of nanocatalysts or nanoreactors (nanomaterials) for biomass conversion (mainly concerned on cellulose conversion), degradation of pollutants in waste waters, electrochemical supercapacitors and electrocatalysis including ORR, OER and HER. Her research area is also referred to some by synchrotron radiation techniques, including X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS), high-energy X-ray diffraction (HE-XRD), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), etc.
