Biography: Dr. Taghreed M. Abu Sarhan has a BA in English Language and Literature from Yarmouk University, Irbid, Jordan. She also has an LLM in Human Rights Law from the University of Leicester, Leicester UK, 2004. Also, she has an MA in Law, Policy, and Society from Northeastern University, Boston, USA 2008. Dr. Abu Sarhan got her Ph.D. in Gender, Ethnicity, and Social Identities from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio, 2011. Dr. Abu Sarhan worked for the Jordanian Public Security Directorate for 21 years, 17 of them at the Family Protection Department (FPD) where she worked as a forensic social worker and the police officer who investigated domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assaults, and Gender-Based Violence. Dr. Abu Sarhan retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after she headed the Regional Training Center at the FPD for two years. Abu Sarhan interests are women’s and child protection from a legal angle, women and children in the criminal justice system, women killings, sexual assaults against women and children, law enforcement and human rights, forensic social work, and police investigating domestic violence and child abuse
