Biography: Rolla Sweis received her Doctor of Pharmacy, 2002, University of Illinois at Chicago and MA in Organizational Leadership, 2008, Lewis University. She currently serves as the Vice-President of Hospital Operations at Advocate Christ Medical Center. Prior to that she was the Regional Pharmacy Director for the South Region of Advocate. Dr. Sweis has implemented and led Emergency Medicine (EM) pharmacy services at ACMC. Her work in the emergency department demonstrated a significant impact on patient safety, quality outcomes, and cost savings.  She started an EM PGY2 residency program and served as the director of the program. Dr. Sweis has over 90 poster presentations for her research.  She also served as the General Practice Residency Program Director in her tenure.  Her focus has been to ensure pharmacist practice at the highest level and implement innovative practices not only in the ED, but outside of the ED.  She is active with ICHP and is part of the director’s network and a member of the Clinical Specialists and Scientists and Pharmacy Practice with ASHP.  She ensures that pharmacists practice demonstrates the value to the organization in which they practice. She received two ASHP Best Practice Awards- 2006 and 2008.
