Biography: Suren Kulshreshthais currently a professor in the Department of Bioresource Policy, Business and Economics at the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon. He received his first two degrees from Agra University, India, and Ph.D. in agricultural economics from the University of Manitoba. He has been a Visiting Scientist at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis, at Laxenburg, Austria. He has also participated in several oversees projects in Indonesia, Zambia and India through the Canadian International Development Agency, and has been an invited participant at several FAO and United Nations Environmental Program activities. His past research has been in the area of climate change induced extreme events, particularly droughts in the Canadian Prairie Provinces. His major interest lies in food economic s through impact of sustainable practices, life cycle analysis, and climate change.
