Biography: Shirish Patil actively serves professional societies such as SPE as a faculty advisor to UAF students and as a member of SPE E&A Committee, Sigma Xi, the Greater Fairbanks community appointed by the Mayor of Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) as member of two Commissions and also serves numerous University of Alaska Fairbanks committees, including President-Elect of the Faculty Senate (2005-06). As a member of the University of Alaska Fairbanks faculty, Shirish has taught wide variety of petroleum engineering courses, conducted training programs sponsored by Bureau of Indian Affairs for Alaskan Native students. Editor of two proceedings, Shirish has authored or coauthored over 60 technical papers and reports in various journals and proceedings.Research InterestMy research interest includes gas hydrates, miscible and immiscible recovery processes, carbon sequestration, gas-to-liquid transportation, and coal bed methane.
