Professor Prasad Yarlagadda has worked in industry and universities for 30 years in India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and Australia. He is currently Professor of Smart Systems and Project Director: Airports of the future research in Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. Prof. Prasad Yarlagadda published around 400 peer reviewed journal and conference articles, with large number of citations with high h-index factor in his discipline. He also supervised 32 PhD students for successful completion in various aspects of advanced manufacturing, CAD/CAM, Rapid Prototype manufacturing and Rapid Product Development. He is editor in chief and guest editor to 17 ISI listed international journals. Prof. Yarlagadda hold number of visiting appointments as international professor in distinguished proffers or in VIT university, Vellore PSG, college of .technology, Coimbatore, Shan Dong Jio tong University, china. Prof. Yarlagadda presented number of key note speeches in Australia, Germany, China, Singapore, New Zealand, India and USA in various aspects of digital manufacturing. He is Fellow of various international professional bodies such as Engineers Australia, Institution of Engineers, India, World Academy of Manufacturing and Materials, Poland, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, USA, American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Professional Engineering Board, Papua New Guinea are among others. Prof. Prasad received number of awards from various national and international agencies for his outstanding contribution to engineering field. He received Fryderyk Staub Golden Owl Award from World Academy of Manufacturing and Materials, Poland, for his outstanding contribution to the discipline of materials and manufacturing engineering in the international arena. More recently Prof. Yarlagadda received a Prestigious Great Honour Award for his outstanding and life time contribution to the discipline of manufacturing in world Arena from Materials Division of Polish Academy of Sciences. In addition to his academic achievements, Prof. Prasad actively engaged with Australian community by taking number of positions such as, President, The India Australia Society Inc, Vice-President, Vedanta Centres of Australia, President, Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) and Co-Chair, Science and Technology Council, GOPIO International. More recently Prof. Prasad worked with other community leaders from various Australian states in establishing Confederation of Indian Associations of Australia (CIAA).
