Biography: Dr. Olivia Tee Hui Yew is Lead in Pharmacology at the Faculty of Medicine, Perdana University – Royal College of Surgeon in lreland. She underwent her undergraduate medical training at the University of Aberdeen and worked in the UK National Health Service as pre-registration house officer in year 2001. She obtained her MSc in Clinical Pharmacology from the same university in year 2003.
Upon returning to her home country Malaysia, Olivia joined Monash University Malaysia as a lecturer teaching pharmacology, immunology, anatomy and chairing the staff association. Her research involved isolated tissue bath experiments studying pharmacological activities of Chinese traditional herbs and has supervised final year research projects and honours projects. She also received her Graduate Certificate of High Education from Monash University.
Olivia was then promoted to senior lecturer by SEGi University Faculty of Medicine and was part of the pharmacology department. She was further promoted to associate professor by Lincoln University College Faculty of Medicine in 2013 where she took on the role as head of Pharmacology and head of the Medical Education Unit. Following her interest in medical education, she completed a Post-graduate Diploma in Health Professions Education with the University of Glasgow. She has now been awarded membership from the Academy of Medical Educators UK.
