Biography: Dr. Byrnes is an Associate Professor in the department of Nursing at the Hunter Bellevue School of Nursing New York. She completed her PhD from the Columbia University. She received Fellow New York Academy of Medicine in (2013), Carrie B. Lenburg Nursing Alumni Award, Excelsior College in (2009) and Outstanding Poster Presentation, National Institute of Mental Health Consortium on Families and HIV/AIDS. Pregnancy after diagnosis with HIV: Women’s voices (2007).
Her research program is focused on women and families who are at risk during the perinatal period due to HIV, mental illness and/or disabilities.
