Biography:

Mrs. Alexander graduated from Western Kentucky University with an Associate Degree in Nursing, Baccalaureate in Nursing, and Master of Science Degree in Nursing Education. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Western Kentucky University. Her nursing experience included working as a registered nurse in ambulatory surgery, newborn nursery, and medical-surgical nursing. Her teaching career began in 2007 as Nursing Instructor at Bowling Green Technical College in the LPN and RN programs. She began teaching at WKU in 2009 in the Associate of Science in Nursing Program as an Assistant Professor. She is currently utilizing her professional experience as an Associate Professor in the RN to BSN program in the School of Nursing at WKU: Teaching and Health Promotion, Concepts of Public Health Nursing, and Coordinator of Application of Public Health Nursing. Mrs. Alexander is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Theta Chapter, American Community Health Nursing Educators (ACHNE), the American Nurses Association, Kentucky Nurses Association, National League for Nursing, Kentucky League for Nursing, Medical Reserve Corps, and is a member/volunteer of other local and regional professional organizations. She was the recipient of the Sigma Theta Tau International, Kappa Theta Chapter and Excellence in Nursing Practice Award and the Master Advisor Certificate in 2014.

Research Interests: include service learning, simulation, implementation of electronic health records
