Biography: Kristopher R. Brickman, MD, FACEP Professor and Chairman, Emergency Medicine Medical Director, Emergency Department Graduated from Wright State University School of Medicine in 1983 and completed an Emergency Medicine residency at St. Vincent Medical Center/Toledo Hospital 1988. Developed Department of Emergency Medicine in July 2009 establishing the Emergency Medicine Residency Program and currently serves as Professor and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine. Has served as Medical Director of the Emergency Department at the University of Toledo Medical Center since 1992, coordinating and managing the clinical activities of the Emergency Department. Has been responsible for supervising students and residents from various disciplines ranging from 3rd and 4th year medical students, PA students to residents from various programs including Emergency Medicine. Founder and Director of the Office of Global Health at The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences in 2007. Since its inception, he has established over 15 international collaborations in the following locations: Lebanon, Philippines, Pakistan, India, Jordan, China and Ethiopia. Has served as the President of The University of Toledo Physicians since July 2012. Along with serving as a member of the Medical Executive committee over the last 18 years and as Faculty- Senate President 2007-2008. Also provides staffing and serves as Medical Director of Heartlands of Waterville Nursing Facility. Research efforts have focused on areas of Simulation Education, Pain management, Resource Utilization and Sports Injuries. These activities have resulted in over 100 national and international presentations at various research conferences and over 25 publications within Emergency Medicine, Global Health. Graduated with a degree in Biologic Sciences from Ohio State University in 1979 where he was a member of the nationally ranked Ohio State University Wrestling Team from 1977-1979. Since 1985 he has continued his sports interests by serving as the Assistant Wrestling coach at St. John’s High School and as the team physician. In 2006 received the Ohio Outstanding Team Physician Award from the Ohio State Medical Board.
