Biography:

Prof. Hassan is currently working as Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Global Dental Center for training internationally qualified dentists for NDBE, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada since Dec. 29, 2018.

Prof. Hassan has earned a BDS degree from Alexandria University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1975; MSD and Doctor degrees both in Conservative Dentistry from Alexandria University, Faculty of Dentistry in 1979 and 1982, respectively. He has also earned a postdoctoral advanced training certificate in Operative Dentistry and Dental Materials research from Marquette University, College of Dentistry, USA in 1985.

Prof. Hassan worked as Professor of Restorative Dentistry at Princess Norah University, College of Dentistry in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from Oct. 26, 2017 to Dec. 27, 2018. He has also worked as Professor of Restorative Dentistry at King Saud University, College of Dentistry from Oct. 1992 to Sept. 1997, from Feb. 2001 to June 2008, and from Oct. 2009 to Feb. 2015. He has also worked as Senior Research Fellow and Associate at Marquette University, College of Dentistry, USA from 1985 to 1988.

Prof. Hassan had several visiting academic positions including a Visiting Professor at the Department of Clinical Sciences, in the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Toronto, Canada from June to August 2007; as well as a Visiting Professor at the Dental School, Faculty of Health Sciences, in the University of Adelaide, Australia from June to August 2004, and from June to August 2005.

Prof. Hassan has introduced the “split-increment composite placement technique” to the field of Operative Dentistry in 2005. He has several publications and conference presentations on this technique nationally and internationally. He has held several administrative positions including; Head of Operative Dentistry Division at King Saud University, Saudi Arabia from Feb. 2001 to July 2008; Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research at the Faculty of Dentistry, Mansoura Univ., Egypt from March 1999 to Feb. 2001; and Chairman of Conservative Dentistry Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Mansoura University, Egypt form Aug. 1997 to Feb. 2001.
