Biography: Dr. Yagami, a native of Japan, earned his BA in English in Tokyo and his MA and Ph.D. at Florida State University. Since his graduation from FSU with Ph.D. in 2002, he has taught at University of North Florida (2002-03), Florida State University (2003-04), University of Northern Colorado (2004-06), and is currently teaching here at Savannah State University as an Associate professor. Dr. Yagami is specialized in the fields of modern Japan and the U.S. – Japanese relationship. As his major publications, Dr. Yagami, in addition to his more than dozen of articles, has three books: Konoe Fumimaro and the Failure of Japan in Peace 1937-1941: A Critical Appraisal of the Three-time Prime Minister of Japan in 2006, The U.S. – Japan Trade Friction – the 1980s and the early 1990s: Japan Bashers and their Views in 2009, and The U.S. – Japanese Relation in Diplomacy and Culture: Japanese Perspective. Dr. Yagami is actively involved in a conference participation and research, including his attendance in the conference for Asian Studies and research in Tokyo in 2005. Dr. Yagami has been selected for an inclusion in Who’s Who in America and an inclusion in Contemporary Authors.
