Biography: Jose Javier Garcia-Medina, MD, PhD, graduated from Medical School of the University of Granada, Spain. He is an Ophthalmologist at General University Hospital Reina Sofia, Murcia, Spain and Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Optometry at the University of Murcia, Spain. He completed his residency in Ophthalmology at University Hospital Dr. Peset, Valencia, and his PhD in Medicine at the University of Valencia, Spain. Dr. Garcia-Medina is also an active member of the Ophthalmology Research Unit “Santiago Grisolia” at the University of Valencia, Spain. He has presented over 150 communications in national and international congresses and published over 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is also reviewer of 15 international publications all over the world. He has been awarded with several prizes such as Arruga 2011 distinction, annual prize awarded by the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology to the best CV among spanish ophthalmologists aged under 40 years-old, 2 Best Poster Awards in the Annual Congress of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has also collaborated with the European Board of Ophthalmology Diploma as examiner.
