Biography: Prof. Jimmy (C.M.) Kao is a distinguished professor with the Institute of Environmental Engineering at National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Prof. Kao is also the director of Water Resource Center of National Sun Yat-Sen University. He received his MS and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1989 and 1993, respectively. Prof. Kao has twenty years of experience as a researcher and environmental engineer in water quality modeling, watershed management, soil and groundwater remediation, contaminated site characterization, wastewater treatment, natural disaster investigation, and risk assessment.
