Biography: Dr. Jie An is currently the Assistant Director and Principal Scientist at Gulfstream Genomics. Dr. An earned her Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the State University of New York-Upstate Medical University and an M.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Sichuan University. She completed her post-doctoral fellowship in Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Texas A&M Health Science Center/Baylor Scott & White Health. Dr. An has published over twenty peer-reviewed papers and meeting abstracts as first author or co-author in professional journals, and co-invented one United States patent and three Chinese patents. She has also served as the manuscript reviewer for numerous professional journals in the fields including pharmacology and chemistry. She is also an editorial board member of two professional journals. Currently she is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Chemistry. With a focus on pharmacogenomics and individualized medicine, Dr. An studies the influences of genetic variability on drug response, and provides scientific leadership in technical development and clinical implementation of pharmacogenetic testing. She is a founding member of Gulfstream Genomics.
