Javad Fatemi received his MSc and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Applied Science of Lyon and University Lyon 1 in France, respectively. After his PhD, he moved to the Delft University of Technology, The Netherlands, where he worked as senior researcher on Finite Element modeling of cancellous human bone using higher order continuum mechanics. In 2004, he joined Airbus Defence and Space Netherlands. As a technical lead, he has developed technologies for application in Thermal Protection Systems for Hypersonic Vehicles, and composite technologies for application in launcher structures. He is Systems Engineer for development and qualification launcher structures. Fatemi is also Associate Professor (part-time) at the Faculty of Aerospace of the Delft University of Technology.
