Biography: Jason Cheng, MD, PhD, serves as an assistant professor and an attending physician in the Section of Hematopathology, University of Chicago. Dr. Cheng’s research focuses on the epigenetic/genetic dysregulation in hematologic malignancies, more recently, on RNA cytosine methylation and methyltransferases as well astheir roles in chromatin organization and drug response and resistance in myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). His clinical expertise is in the diagnosis of hematologic diseases, especially bone marrow diseases, including MDS, MPN and AML. Dr. Cheng received his degrees of a B.M. (M.D. equivalent)and a Master in Tumor Pathology from Kunming Medical University and from Peking (Beijing) Medical University, China, respectively.
