Biography:

Dr. Jasmine L. Harris is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Ursinus College, outside of Philadelphia, PA.Dr. Harris completed her PhD at the University of Minnesota in 2013, working first as a visiting professor at Wake Forest University before beginning a permanent position at Ursinus the following year where she currently teaches courses on race and gender and the institutional construction of identity, broadly defined. Her research examines the role of colleges and universities in the perception of identity and belonging for women and men of color in these settings. Dr. Harris is committed to including undergraduate students in social science research, and mentors students of color in within the discipline.
