Biography: Dr. Giridhar Parvatam was Born on 25th July 1969 at Krishna Nagar, Guntur(Dt), Andhra Pradesh,India. PhD in Botany (Microbiology Specialization), Kakatiya University, Telangana Specialization : Biotechnology 16 years of experience Presently working as a Principal Scientist at Plant Cell Biotechnology Department, CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore, India Profile Born in Krishnanagar (Tadepalle Mandal), Guntur Dt., of Andhra Pradesh in 1969, Parvatam Giridhar had his schooling in the same place and graduated from Satavahana College, Vijayawada (Nagarjuna University, A.P.), securing a distinction. Subsequently Giridhar completed his M.Sc., degree in 1991 with Distinction from Kakatiya University, Warangal, Telangana. He pursued his Doctoral program in the same University with microbiology as specialization under the guidance of Prof. S.M. Reddy and obtained his Ph.D. in 1996. As a DAAD Fellow he had been to University of Bayreuth, Germany to work with Prof. Ewald Komor during 1995-96. Later he worked as Microbiology Lecturer at S.S.R. & J. Arts and Science College, Khammam (Affiliated to Kakatiya University) till 1999. He joined as Scientist at CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore in 1999. He is presently Principal Scientist at Plant Cell Biotechnology Department of CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore. Dr. Giridhar in his 16 years of brilliant research experience contributed significantly to Plant Biotechnology, Food Sciences and Bioactive secondary metabolites.
