Biography:

Daniel A. Wubah is the senior advisor to the president and professor of biology at Washington and Lee University (W&L). Prior to this position, he was the provost at W&L. Before coming to W&L, he was the deputy provost and vice president for undergraduate education at Virginia Tech. He also served as associate provost and professor of zoology at the University of Florida.
He held several positions at James Madison University (JMU) including professor of biology, associate dean of the College of Science and Mathematics and special assistant to the president. He started his career as a faculty member and later head of department at Towson University.
As an anaerobic microbiologist, he has published on the obligately anaerobic zoosporic fungi, dehalogenation of polychlorinated biphenyls, and fiber degradation in wood-eating catfish. He has co-authored several books and published more than fifty peer-reviewed research articles, book chapters and technical reports. His research has been supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
He has also received funding from private sources such as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, the Mellon Foundation and the Endeavour Foundation.
