Biography: Chee-Wai Cheng graduated with an honors degree in physics from the University of Hong Kong. In 1985, he was offered a clinical fellowship at the Joint Center for Radiation Therapy, Harvard Medical School. In 1999, Chee-Wai Cheng joined in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, New Jersey as the chief of medical physics. In 2014 (Present), Chee-Wai Cheng was recruited to head the proton therapy center at the University Hospitals and received an appointment as Professor, clinical radiation oncology at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland,OH. In addition to his clinical service, research and teaching, he had been a reviewer for grant applications, scientific journals and served as guest associate editor for the Medical Physics Journal. Chee-Wai is an editorial board member for the International Journal of Cancer Therapy and Oncology and also for the Journal of Proton Therapy. Chee-Wai participated in several scientific task groups at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine as members. He also co-chaired in the AAPM task group 106 and served as co-chairs in ACR Technical parameters and Practice guidelines.
