Biography: Dr. Evans teaches in the RN to BSN Program in Concepts of Professional Nursing, Concepts of Public Health Nursing, and Application of Public Health Nursing at Western Kentucky University. She received her MSN in Nursing Education with a certificate in Education from the University of Evansville in 1989 and a certificate as a nurse educator in 2009 from the University of Southern Indiana. She has her credentials by the National League of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE). She is a graduate from Western Kentucky University’s ADN in 1984 and the BSN Program in 1987. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Western Kentucky University with a focus on “Rural and Urban Nurses’ Knowledge and Perceived Competency of Palliative Care for End of Life Patients in Long Term Care Facilities”. She is a member of the ANA, Sigma Theta Tau, KLN, and the NLN. Her practice experience entails geriatric and medical surgical nursing. She has taught in the Associate Program of Nursing at WKU in Fundamentals of Nursing for twelve years prior to joining the RN to BSN Program.
