Biography: Dr. Allen Markowicz is a Professor of Medicine at the University of Toledo College of Medicine and Life Sciences where he is the Chief of the Division of Community Internal Medicine in the Department of Medicine. He is Director of the University of Toledo Community Multispecialty Practice Sites and the University of Toledo Executive Health Assessment Program. As a member of the University of Toledo Physicians LLC he has an MDVIP affiliated “boutique” practice. In the past he has been Chair of the Department of Medicine at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and Department Head of Internal Medicine at Mercy Medical Group. Though presently full time at the University, he has been in private practice in a small single specialty group, with a multispecialty group, in a hospital employed group, and in a government practice setting. He has experience in urban, suburban, rural, and international practice venues. His experience is largely in primary care internal medicine but early in his career had general practice and emergency medicine experience. He has been a Medical Director at an extended care facility, served on national and insurance company quality panels, been part of IT task forces, been a clinical practice guideline contributor, and has been on boards of medical and nonmedical organizations.
