Biography: Adria N. Welcher, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology at Morehouse College. Her primary research interests are race and class inequalities in educational outcomes and residential choices. Specifically, she focuses on the experience of black middle class families. Her two most recent publications explore colorblind racism and race and class discrimination in educational contexts. She is currently working on a chapter for an edited volume exploring the experiences of black middle class families and their residential choice options in Atlanta. In addition, Dr. Welcher has published on general strain theory
