How to Write Nursing Article: Advice from an Editor

The process of writing up the research should begin during the research planning; continue while the research is being implemented. When the results of the research are analyzed, a first draft of the written paper can be produced. Revision of this draft is an important part of the process. It should contain revision of the content and revision of the style. Publication of research work is essential in order to advance science and to improve health. It is also essential for people pursuing a scientific career. Researcher should learn not only how to write a scientific paper, but also how to get it published.

A research manuscript published in a national or international journal of repute is essentially regarded as a substantiation of reliable and dependable studies carried out by a concerned research group. Before sending the manuscript, it is the duty of the author(s) to understand the scope of the journal and make sure the topic of the manuscript fulfills the journals requirements. This will allow for avoiding unnecessary delays. Rejection is then or min academic publishing. Even researchers at the top of their field have experienced rejection.

This workshop aimed to describe in some details important hints in writing a nursing article and revision of the manuscript before sending to the journal to avoid rejection of the journal. It will include the three essential requirements described for a successful original article, known as the basic triad of an original article: A subject worth reporting, a knowledge of basic structure of a peer reviewed article and a knowledge of the essentials of good writing. It will also focus on various aspects related to manuscript rejection particularly those manuscripts proved later on to be good and explains efforts made by some biomedical journals to reduce the loss in the scientifically sound works because of rejection.

Biography:
Eman Sayed Ahmed Ahmed: Eman Sayed Ahmed Ahmed is a Professor of Pediatric Nursing, faculty of Nursing, Assiut University, Egypt. Head of Pediatric Nursing department, Member in Faculty of nursing council, a member of Partnership of proposal of postgraduates rule of credit hours, member in undergraduate and post-graduate final exam committee, reviewer in national and international journals of nursing as journal of nursing and health studies Assiut nursing journal, El minia nursing journal and Portsaid nursing journal, supervise many nursing master and doctorate theses in the faculty, head of the scientific leadership and student support unit in the faculty, a member in electronic correction unit, internal and external arbitration, a member of the organizing committee in the 1st International conference: Nursing Practices & Era Challenges (January-2017). Worked in Al-Jouf University, Kindom of Saudia Arabia from 2006-2013. Peer-reviewer to evaluate the academic researches for faculty members at Mʼutah University – Jordan for the promotion of professors and assistant professors, assessor in the permanent committee for promoting professors and assistant professors in Egypt.

Mimi Mohamed Mekkawy: Mimi Mohamed Mekkawy is a Professor of medical surgical of nursing, Assiut University, Egypt. Vice dean of graduates and research for affairs, Secretory editor of the scientific Nursing journal, Member in Faculty of nursing council, head of Partnership of proposal of postgraduates rule of credit hours, member in undergraduated and post-graduated final exam committee, editor in national and international journals of nursing, thesis supervision in faculty, internal and external arbitration, General Conference Secretary, Reviewer, Chairperson in the 1st International conference: Nursing Practices & Era Challenges (11-2017).
